Using Balloons for Pylons:
If you are like most RC helicopter pilots, you have looked for challenges in strange places. Well a great idea has opened up a whole new set of possibilities.
Standard water balloons can be stacked together with folded tape, and turned into pylons for a flight obstacle.As opposed to other hard obstacles, they are safer for your helicopter because you stand zero chance of damage to your blades.
We used3" water balloons, but standard 12" balloons would work also. After some experimentation we found that a column height of around 2' gave you the most height without too much 'swaying'.
You can also arrange the balloons into shapes to create different obstacles...
